ܡܣܒܪܝܢܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܠܗܘ ܕܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܒܪܫܝܬ ܗܘ ܕܫܡܥܢ ܘܚܙܝܢܝܗܝ ܒܥܝܢܝܢ ܚܙܝܢ ܘܓܫܢ ܒܐܝܕܝܢ ܗܘ ܕܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܡܠܬܐ ܕܚܝܐ
msbrynn lkwn lhw d'ythwhy hw' mn brshyth hw dshmen wkhzynyhy beynyn khzyn wgshn b'ydyn hw d'ythwhy mlth' dkhy'
That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we saw, and our hands touched, concerning the Word of life

ܘܚܝܐ ܐܬܓܠܝܘ ܘܚܙܝܢ ܘܣܗܕܝܢܢ ܘܡܟܪܙܝܢܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܚܝܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܐܝܬܝܗܘܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܘܬ ܐܒܐ ܘܐܬܓܠܝܘ ܠܢ
wkhy' 'thglyw wkhzyn wshdynn wmkrzynn lkwn khy' dlelm hnwn d'ythyhwn hww lwth 'b' w'thglyw ln
(and the life was revealed, and we have seen, and testify, and declare to you the life, the eternal life, which was with the Father, and was revealed to us);

ܘܡܕܡ ܕܚܙܝܢ ܘܫܡܥܢ ܡܘܕܥܝܢܢ ܐܦ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܬܗܘܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܫܘܬܦܘܬܐ ܥܡܢ ܘܫܘܬܦܘܬܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܝܠܢ ܐܝܬܝܗ ܥܡ ܐܒܐ ܘܥܡ ܒܪܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ
wmdm dkhzyn wshmen mwdeynn 'p lkwn dthhw' lkwn shwthpwth' emn wshwthpwthn dyn dyln 'ythyh em 'b' wem brh yshwe mshykh'
that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us. Yes, and our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

ܘܗܠܝܢ ܟܬܒܝܢܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܚܕܘܬܢ ܕܒܟܘܢ ܬܗܘܐ ܡܫܡܠܝܐ
whlyn kthbynn lkwn dkhdwthn dbkwn thhw' mshmly'
And we write these things to you, that our joy may be fulfilled.

ܘܗܕܐ ܗܝ ܣܒܪܬܐ ܕܫܡܥܢ ܡܢܗ ܘܡܣܒܪܝܢܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܢܘܗܪܐ ܗܘ ܘܚܫܘܟܐ ܟܠ ܟܠܗ ܠܝܬ ܒܗ
whd' hy sbrth' dshmen mnh wmsbrynn lkwn d'lh' nwhr' hw wkhshwk' kl klh lyth bh
This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

ܘܐܢ ܐܡܪܝܢܢ ܕܫܘܬܦܘܬܐ ܐܝܬ ܠܢ ܥܡܗ ܘܡܗܠܟܝܢܢ ܒܚܫܘܟܐ ܕܓܠܐ ܚܢܢ ܘܠܘ ܒܫܪܪܐ ܪܕܝܢܢ
w'n 'mrynn dshwthpwth' 'yth ln emh wmhlkynn bkhshwk' dgl' khnn wlw bshrr' rdynn
If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and don’t tell the truth.

ܐܢ ܕܝܢ ܒܢܘܗܪܐ ܡܗܠܟܝܢܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܗܘ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܒܢܘܗܪܐ ܐܝܬ ܠܢ ܫܘܬܦܘܬܐ ܥܡ ܚܕܕܐ ܘܕܡܐ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܒܪܗ ܡܕܟܐ ܠܢ ܡܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܚܛܗܝܢ
'n dyn bnwhr' mhlkynn 'yk dhw 'ythwhy bnwhr' 'yth ln shwthpwth' em khdd' wdm' dyshwe brh mdk' ln mn klhwn khThyn
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

ܘܐܢ ܢܐܡܪ ܕܠܝܬ ܠܢ ܚܛܝܬܐ ܢܦܫܢ ܡܛܥܝܢܢ ܘܫܪܪܐ ܠܝܬ ܒܢ
w'n n'mr dlyth ln khTyth' npshn mTeynn wshrr' lyth bn
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

ܐܢ ܕܝܢ ܡܘܕܝܢܢ ܒܚܛܗܝܢ ܡܗܝܡܢ ܗܘ ܘܙܕܝܩ ܕܢܫܒܘܩ ܠܢ ܚܛܗܝܢ ܘܢܕܟܝܢ ܡܢ ܟܠܗ ܥܘܠܢ
'n dyn mwdynn bkhThyn mhymn hw wzdyq dnshbwq ln khThyn wndkyn mn klh ewln
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

ܘܐܢ ܐܡܪܝܢܢ ܕܠܐ ܚܛܝܢ ܥܒܕܝܢܢ ܠܗ ܕܓܠܐ ܘܡܠܬܗ ܠܝܬ ܠܘܬܢ
w'n 'mrynn dl' khTyn ebdynn lh dgl' wmlthh lyth lwthn
If we say that we haven’t sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
